M is one of the largest groups. Mexico has a green, white and red tricolor with an eagle on a cactus, and Malaysia has red and white stripes with a crescent and a 14-pointed star. Mongolia is the second largest landlocked country in the world, after Kazakhstan.

In Europe, Malta, Monaco, Moldova and Montenegro all start with M. Monaco is the second smallest country in the world, and its red and white flag is almost identical to the flag of Indonesia. In Africa there are Madagascar, Mali, Malawi, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco and Mozambique.

Mozambique is the only country with a rifle on its flag. Maldives in the Indian Ocean has a green rectangle with a white crescent, and Micronesia and the Marshall Islands are Pacific states. Myanmar adopted its current flag in 2010.
