Each quiz covers one region, so you can start with an easy one and work up. The smallest is South America, with 14 flags. Oceania has 27, North America 41, Asia 52, Europe 57 and Africa 58. A separate quiz covers all 50 US states. Learning one continent at a time is easier than memorizing every flag, and the continent pages are a good place to study first.
To prepare, learn the groups: Nordic crosses, Pan-African colors, Pan-Arab colors and the Southern Cross. Pay attention to the pairs that people mix up, such as Romania and Chad, Indonesia and Monaco, or Ireland and Ivory Coast. You can browse all the flags of the world before you play or sort them by color.
If you get stuck, look for one clue at a time. Count the stripes, note their direction, and check for a star, a crescent, a cross or a coat of arms. Most flags can be narrowed to a handful of countries this way. Scores improve fast once you have seen each flag a few times, so replay a region until the answers come without thinking.
