Tips for recognizing South American flags
The trap is the yellow, blue and red group. Colombia is the plain one with a double-width yellow band, Ecuador adds a coat of arms, and Venezuela has an arc of stars on the blue. Argentina and Uruguay both have a sun and light blue, but Argentina has three bands and Uruguay nine stripes.
Brazil is easy with its blue globe, Chile has one white star, Peru is red-white-red, Bolivia red-yellow-green, and Paraguay red-white-blue with an emblem in the center. Guyana has a golden arrowhead, and Suriname a star on a wide red band. The territories, the Falkland Islands and French Guiana, use a blue ensign and a French tricolor. See the South American flags.
