What the Jordan flag emoji means

The Jordan flag emoji has black, white and green horizontal stripes with a red triangle on the left that holds a white seven-pointed star. It is used for football, Petra and the Dead Sea. Independence Day is 25 May, commemorating 1946. Army Day, 10 June, recalls the Great Arab Revolt of 1916. Amman, Aqaba and the Red Sea diving spots also bring it up in travel posts.

How to type the Jordan flag emoji

On iPhone or Android, open the emoji keyboard and search for “Jordan” or “flag”. On a Mac, press Ctrl+Cmd+Space and type the same word. On Windows 10 and 11, press Win + . and search there, but Windows shows the letters JO instead of a flag, because Microsoft's emoji font has no country flags.
