Mauritania flag emoji FAQ
Why does the Mauritania flag show as MR on my screen?
Your system has no flag artwork and shows the two regional indicator letters instead. This is normal on Windows. Phones, Macs and most browsers on other systems display the flag.
How do I get the Mauritania flag emoji on Windows?
Windows shows letters, not flags, so copy π²π· from this page and paste it into apps that draw their own emoji, such as Chrome-based websites, Slack, Discord or WhatsApp Web, or use a flag-capable font.
Why does the Mauritania flag have red stripes?
The red bands were added in 2017 as a tribute to the people who died in the fight for independence. Older versions of the emoji artwork may still show only the green field.
